Devlog #11 - Moles In the Rough
IT IS DONE!
Welcome moles and capitalists, we are proud to announce that our work is done, the nightmare is over, and all that remains is a game!
After dedicating our blood, sweat and tears to this project for 12 weeks we finally reached the end of the line, and even if I do say so myself, the result is something to be proud of! But enough boasting about how good our game is, let's get into what we did this final week!
ARTISTS
> Explosion VFX for when machines break was created !
> Walking VFX was created (Press down pad for easter egg)
> A Material with a fresnel effect for the character and backpack was created to pop out more.

PROGRAMMERS
This week has been very productive as we have been able to implement various updates that have improved the gameplay experience. Here are some of the accomplishments for the week.
One of the updates we were able to implement this week was a knockback effect for players. This effect has made the gameplay more realistic, as players now have a reaction when they are hit.
We also added a screen shake effect when the furnace stops running. This effect has made the gameplay more engaging, as players can now feel the effect of the furnace stopping.
Furthermore, we were able to improve drill starting and stopping with ease in and out effect. This update has made the gameplay smoother and more enjoyable.
We added quite some UI to the game as well. Both the main menu and the win/lose screen got a small overhaul and receiver some transition effects.
On top of this, we added quite a few VFX. The furnace and boiler now explode upon failure, the mole leaves some dust particles when running, a little effect plays when picking up an item and the elevator now shoots off sparks!
Now for the camera, we added some transitions and screen shake! this screen shake is accompanied by some controller feedback.
Lastly, we fixed some font issues on the ATM and money screen. This has made the game more visually appealing and user-friendly.
Overall, it has been a great week of progress. The updates have made the gameplay experience smoother and more engaging. I am excited to see how these updates will improve the game experience for our players.
