Devlog #8 - AAAaaaaAAAAAAa

Devlog #9

This is fine. It's all fine. Everything is more than fine.

Welcome to devlog #9, the third last devlog for us to log. The end is nigh, as some say, and the end of our game is nigher - this brings both a persistent sense dread to our overworked brains, and a sense of joy and accomplishment for almost actually making a game.

But indeed, we still gotta finish it. Let's get to what was done this week.

ART

Environment

This week, the focus was on the environment and UI. One artist took aim at creating a new level fitting our aesthetic. The other, tackling UI and player interaction pop-us. The third, hitting backgrounds, UI, and a few leftover props swe were missing.

> Beautiful level created (needs lighting)

> Monitor and Baby Monitor: Allow us to introduce ourselves

> Cool Background moving effect (the programmers made it move)

> UI STUFF - Our machines will have prompts that show what is needed.

Programming

Considering it is the second production sprint we decided to start working on something that was highly needed to avoid any confusion: player feedback!

For starters, the gem machine now visibly fills up, so you can know how full the basket is.

On top of that we now have a button prompt that pops up for all interactable items/tasks.

And last but not least, the dispensers now light up when the corresponding machine breaks!!!

But that's not all we did! We made sure the elevator can be repaired and updated the wall design. Oh and the mole with the most gems gets crowned with an ominous sphere!
